There she laid
Doors locked
Windows locked
Room so warm and cozy
Body covered with layers of clothing but, so cold it shivered
Breath so hot it could melt ice
Fingers felt detached from the body
Bones so weak they could barely move
Head so heavy it could not be lifted
Heart so heavy, lungs so weak
Pulse so fast it could win a marathon
Every piece of the spinal cord could be felt
Every breath hit the cord like thunder
Eyes so heavy, face so swollen, numb she was.
So numb she laid and all she could think about was; what it takes to care.
What does it take to actually care?
Not time, not money, not health
Yet, people don't care.
Why do people not care?
Questions asked, no answers received
Heart got heavier
Breath began to seize
Yet, the question remained unanswered.
There she laid, in a terrible state
But all she could think about
Was; "what it takes to care".
