Hi guys!
I hope 2016 is going great for you all and I hope you got a
tone of New Year gifts…
Talking about gifts, I got some. I don’t know what happened
but, I used to be the gift-er and now, I am the gift-ee… I know there are no
words like that but, it feels good though.
Have you ever had a gift that lasted forever?
Well, I haven’t. Forever is a lifetime and I am still
living… I probably haven’t even started living so, ask me when we meet in
heaven.
What we don’t understand is that;
sometimes, these gifts come in form of humans … yes! Human beings can be
“gifts” sometimes.
Just like there are gifts that
one probably has no need for, gifts that are considered “not useful” and gifts
that one keeps in a store room for years, maybe decades to either use it or, give
it out; there are humans like that.
Seriously! There are people that
one meets and immediately, that person knows … Yes! I need this person. It
could be for any of so many reasons; friendships, intimate relationships,
spiritual growth, or anything.
Meanwhile, there are those people
that one may meet and just feel like; nah! This person, I can’t cope with, but
he or she can be an acquaintance.
It is not as easy as it sounds
because one has to really study people before categorizing them. Sometimes,
when people are “stabbed in the back”, they realize that they handed the weapon
over to the vicious stabber.
So, one has to be careful who is
kept close and who is kept at a distance.
The technicality in living with
humans has to do with a lot of mental processing but, it is nothing that cannot
be done.
Patience, endurance, forgiveness,
joy, strength, love, peace; these are some of the virtues one needs to be able
to live with humans because, trust me, human beings can drive you crazy! And
not in a good way.
However, the most important thing
is; to appreciate “gifts”. Be it a person or a material thing, always
appreciate gifts. No matter how unnecessary or un-useful, appreciate it.
No matter what category a person
is placed in your life, appreciate that person because, you never know who will
save you tomorrow, you never know who’s help you will be needing tomorrow, you never
know if that rejected brick will become the corner stone of the building and,
you never know whom God has placed in your life to teach you what or be your
“what”.
Never take human beings for
granted. Never use people. Love people! Tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone.
Tomorrow is fate –based so, if you have a “today”, treat it like your last.
If you have a person, treat that
person like he/she won’t be there tomorrow.
Be careful who you hurt. Not
everyone is replaceable.
With Love!
Rita-R
