So I finally listened to it. The song; “I’m getting ready”
by Tasha cobbs and Nicki Minaj. So did many of you who have nothing good
to say about it.
Yeah yeah yeah!
Nothing good.
Many of us are judging Minaj, others are criticizing Tasha.
Let us be logical. Okay!
It is a song. I like it!
You and I are actually the reason why Nicki Minaj is
successful doing what she does. If we were not supporters, she wouldn’t be
where she is today. So, all the comments and binding are really not necessary.
By the way, who are you to judge? “Let he who is without sin
cast the first stone”.
You’re not sinless no matter how much of a Christian you
are. Need I remind you; Christ did not come for the sinless. A person who
is healthy does not need a doctor. So if you’re sinless, you
don’t need Christ. So Move!
We have made it our point of duty to condemn.
There is Meagan Good and Carrie Underwood and now, Nicki
Minaj among others. Leave them alone. Seriously!
I read a lot of comments of people screaming and wailing and
asking why a woman who twerks has been featured on a gospel track.
OMG!
As ugly as that sounds, we only know that because we are Minaj’s
followers. We have just watched a video of her twerking and now, it is hard to
accept that she is thanking God for her success. We only have that image of her
in our minds because we have undoubtedly subscribed to it. We are so stuck on
pop culture even though we think it is of no good. Why then are we quick to
condemn the fact that she is thanking God for her millions and mansions?
We
perceive people how we see them but, there is more than meets
the eye.
Why throw stones at someone we don’t know.
Does God not give them a chance?
Will God not give her a chance? Does he not love them like he loves you? You
the all clean… super-saintly, “I don’t sin but I follow Nicki Minaj on
Instagram” you?
Wouldn’t Christ give her a chance to reverence him and show
gratitude to him?
Wouldn't he give her the opportunity to take one step towards becoming whom he’ll want
her to be? Christ condemns no one! Even though, he has the power to. You and I,
who are born and breathed in sin, we shouldn’t condemn either.
Take off the cap
of judgement and the shoes of a judge cos they are not yours to wear.
Rather, let us pray that this becomes a life style for Minaj
and many others out there.
God loves us just the way we are. He says come as you are.
You have no idea what will be so, take a chill pill ladies
and gentlemen.
I hear you though!
Your opinions, your reasons why that
collabo is wrong... I get it.
However, nobody is forcing anyone to listen to the song.
If
it doesn’t speak to one's spirit as an uplifting song or a gospel song, don’t
listen to it. If it does, go ahead. It all depends on the strength of every individual's
spirit and how much one can discern. So pray for guidance.
God help us.
With Love
